	Aspiration Tests Test Use Culdocentesis To detect causes of pelvic pain or intra-abdominal bleeding or to confirm suspected ectopic pregnancy . Dilation and curettage (D&C) To confirm suspected ectopic pregnancy or determine cause of postmenopausal bleeding . Toluidine blue dye test To evaluate abnormal changes in the vulva .
