	Imaging Tests Test Use Barium enema To detect endometriosis , cervical cancer , and ovarian cancer . Colour-flow Doppler Click here for more information. CT scan To detect pelvic masses, brain or pituitary lesions, and cervical cancer . Hysterosalpingography Click here for more information. Intravenous pyelogram To detect or determine the cause of endometriosis, pelvic masses, cervical cancer, congenital anomalies, and postoperative complications. MRI scan Magnetic resonance imaging. Transabdominal ultrasound To detect or determine the cause of ectopic pregnancy, pelvic inflammatory disease, or unexplained pelvic pain. Transvaginal ultrasound Click here for more information. Vaginogram To detect fistulas , abnormal passages between two internal organs or between an internal organ and the body surface (such as an opening between the vagina and the rectum).
