Drug (such as penicillin, tetracycline or cephalosporin) that is able to kill or inhibit
the growth of certain micro-organisms (bacteria). Used to combat disease and infection.
Some of the most common antibiotics are ampicillin, amoxicilin and penicillin.
An antibiotic may cause an allergic reaction, as is often the case with penicillin. See also
