• SelfCare 1.3 (for Window 3.x, 95 and NT) is a medical software for Bio-Holographic Diagnosis and Therapy (or ECIWO).

• The Clinical Decision Making Group(MEDG) at MIT works on medical applications utilizing artificial intelligence and other computer science techniques. They work on both theoretical and applied projects, including the following:
  • W3-EMRS is a radical attempt to re-architect medical record systems to support common, multi-institutional access and increased flexibility while protecting patient privacy. It uses the evolving technology of the Web to provide universal platform-independent access and to make implementation simple by using industry-wide approaches. Fielded demonstrations include a Web-based hospital results reporting system, an ICU real-time monitoring application, and multi-institutional access (to small "scrubbed" databases) to support an emergency room scenario.

  • Guardian Angel proposes development of lifetime patient-centered comprehensive health information systems that not only record personal medical information but help to interpret data, "sanity check" decisions and plans, educate the patient to his or her medical concerns, and form the basis for communication with care providers, peer support groups, etc.

• The OSIRIS Imaging Software
  The OSIRIS software has been designed as a general medical image manipulation and analysis software. The design is mainly based on the following criteria: portability, extendibility and suitability for any imaging modality. OSIRIS is designed to deal with images provided by any type of digital imaging modality to allow physicians to easily display and manipulate images from different imaging sources using a single generic software program.

• Emerging Infections Information Network
  The Seminar in Emerging Infections at Yale University School of Public Health is available on-line this spring. Featured are the audio, slides and transcriptions of lectures given by internationally prominent scientists in the burgeoning field of emerging infections. To access these seminars you will need a standard html browser such as Netscape.

  Using Internet Relay Chat (IRC) there will be live exchanges with the expert of the week on eight Tuesday evenings from February to May. Participants must register for each chat by sending a request to EIINet@biomed.med.yale.edu. Questions for the chat may be pre- submitted to the same address. Each slide lecture will be available on-line the next day and questions about the material can be sent anytime for response from Yale faculty.

• Brainiac! Interactive Digital Human Neuroanatomy Atlas is a software package for the Windows platform made by Medical Multimedia Systems for medical students and neuroscientists to brush up on their brains.
  Brainiac! is a state of the art interactive human neuroanatomy atlas that goes beyond the pages of an ordinary textbook. The intuitive "point and click" interface allows you to quickly and easily navigate through the central nervous system.
