Dr. McAllister holds a Doctor of Psychology degree and is a clinical health psychologist whose career has been devoted to chronic pain management and health psychology in both the clinic and academia. He is currently the Executive Director of the Institute for Chronic Pain and in this capacity he serves as the editor-in-chief of the website, and all educational and training materials. All content is reviewed and revised, as necessary, on at least a biannual basis by Dr. McAllister.

Murray J. McAllister, PsyD, is the executive director of the Institute for Chronic Pain. The Institute for Chronic Pain is an educational and public policy think tank. Its purpose is to bring together thought leaders from around the world in the field of chronic pain rehabilitation and provide academic-quality information that is also approachable to all the stakeholders in the field: patients, their families, generalist healthcare providers, third party payers, and public policy analysts. Its aim is to change how chronic pain is managed by creating a demand for empirically supported conceptualizations and treatments of chronic pain. He also blogs at the Institute for Chronic Pain Blog.

Dr. Del Pozo is the founder of PACE, a four-week chronic pain management program (www.paceforpain.org). PACE provides cognitive-behavioral therapies and mindfulness training for those with chronic pain as well as consulting and training services for healthcare providers. She is also the co-author of The Gut Solution (www.thegutsolution.com), a book for families with IBS utilizing SEEDS (Stress, Education, Exercise, Diet and Sleep), a biopsychosocial approach to IBS and RAP. Dr. Del Pozo is also on staff of a multi-disciplinary pain management program at Kaiser Permanente, where she helps many patients refocus their strengths to manage pain without opioid medications.

Additionally, as a public policy think tank, the Institute does not provide healthcare services to patients.
